Jeremy Jackson: How we wrecked the ocean

Here’s a Ted Talk by Jeremy Jackson. Note the title, which is in past tense. I’m not sure when people are going to wake up and start comprehending what’s actually going on here….
In this bracing talk, coral reef ecologist Jeremy Jackson lays out the shocking state of the ocean today: overfished, overheated, polluted, with indicators that things will get much worse. Astonishing photos and stats make the case.

It’s kind of amazing seeing the widening gulf between the Corporate sponsored right wing spin machines and the views of those people who actually know what they are talking about, don’t you agree?
I’m almost starting to suspect that the damage television does to brains who are raised by it and on it may be far more severe than even Jerry Mander’s 4 Arguments for the Elimination of Television (Amazon page) suggested. Nothing else I see can account for the vast disconnect between what’s actually going on and what many people (and that’s not just the right, by the way, you can include Prius driving types here, since the problem is one of personal overconsumption, not what is consumed).
